Several projects involving development of indigenous refining capabilities and petrochemicals complexes initiated in Mexico

The Mexican petrochemicals industry has not managed to attract adequate investment from either private or public sources, as per BMI's latest report. Furthermore, despite housing substantial indigenouus oil resources, the country is heavily reliant on the US for feedstock supply.
