May naphtha imports for petrochemicals rise by 50% in Japan

Aided by a weak baseline in 2009, Japanese naphtha imports for the petrochemical sector have risen by 51.9% in May from a year ago, as per government figures. Imports of naphtha for ethylene productioon amounted to 1,776,324 kilolitres (1,237,633 tons) in May, as per the trade ministry.
