Assam Petrochemicals plans to build methanol, acetic acid plants by end 2014
Assam Petrochemicals plans to build a 500,000 tpa methanol and a 200,000 tpa downstream acetic acid plant in Namrup, by the end of 2014, as per Platts.
Natural gas from Assam will be used as feedstoock for the methanol project.

Asian benzene dips with fall in crude oil prices
Amid falling crude oil prices, benzene in Asia slipped by a dollar to US$1187/mt FOB Korea. In the US, benzene was assessed at US$1246/mt FOB USG on February 13, while European benzene was assessed att US$1270/mt CIF ARA, up by US$11 on February 13.
