Japan's Nippon Oil to put its naphtha cracker off steam in year end

Amid the down-sliding ethylene demand in Asia, Japan's Nippon Oil Corp has reportedly announced to provisionally shut its Kawasaki naphtha cracker till Jan, 2009. The cracker which has ethylene producction capacity of 404,000 tpa will see a brief 20-day down-shuttering as Japanese firm face a sluggish petrochemical market in Asia.
