Low demand, overcapacity prompt LyondellBasell to discontinue HDPE production at Texas plant

LyondellBasell Industries, one of the world's largest polymers, petrochemicals and fuels companies, will discontinue production at its 480 mln pounds per year high density polyethylene (HDPE) site in Chocolate Bayou plant near Alvin, Texas by July 31, 2009.
