French wine producer Boisset Family Estate has chosen a polyethylene terephthalate (PET) bottle with improved barrier properties to package its wine for the Beaujolais Nouveau 2008 wine. The PET bottlle is produced by Constar International with it’s MonOxbar barrier technology allows the sensitive wine to be packaged in lightweight PET rather than glass, saving fuel, cutting freight costs and reducing the carbon footprint, while protecting the subtle nuances in flavor, aroma, and color.
