A large union in France- CGT, has called an open-ended strike in the petrochemical industry from Oct. 12 in protest over a planned pension reform, as Reuters. The CGT, the dominant union in a sector tthat includes the oil refining industry, announced the call in a statement a day after unions in other sectors, notably public transport, called rolling strikes in an escalation of protests over the reform.
