Asian PE sellers face stiff competition from Iran, Middle East

As demand recedes, Asia’s PE markets have witnessed significant declines over the past few weeks amid deteriorating economic conditions. Oil inventories on the decline in USA, prices rise

Light, sweet crude for July delivery rose by 4%, to US$71.51 a barrel on the Nymex, while Brent crude on the ICE futures exchange rose by 3.2% to US$71.74 a barrel. Signs that oil inventories at Cushiing may be on the decline have propped up crude oil prices amid optimistic investor outlook.

Arkema licenses PVC production technology to Qinghai Salt Lake Industry Group Co., Ltd

Propylene prices in Asia net weekly losses of US$122/mt

Propylene prices have fallen in Asia, plunging by US$122/mt in the week, as per Platts. Prices have fallen to US$1140/mt FOB Korea for 1,500 mt cargoes to be loaded in the next 20-40 days. The steep ddecrease follows a US$75/mt plunge in polypropylene values in the same week to US$1285/mt CFR China.
