A recent report has revealed that heavier maintenance shutdowns have kept ethylene production in Japan down to by 5.9% in the month of June as compared to the production in June 2007. 4 ethylene plantts were shutdown in June for maintenance turnaround, keeping ethylene output down at 572500 tons, as compared with 2 shutdowns in June 2007, when output was at 608300 tons.
