Weeks after Sunoco shut its ethylene complex at Marcus Hook due to an explosion and fire, the company has arrived at a decision to permanently shutter the complex. Insufficient demand for ethylene, etthylene oxide and cyclohexane has acted as a hinderance to repairing or replacing equipment that was damaged in the explosion that took place on May 17.
