Florida-based Industrial Biotechnology Corp., plans to manufacture biobased polymers and plastics from ethylene derived from hydrous sugarcane-based ethanol. The company plans to use preexisting chemiical infrastructure to replace petroleum-based ethylene with hydrous-ethanol-based ethylene.
