Japan's leading petrochem company, Mitsubishi Chemical Corp. shuttered a naphtha cracker at Mizushima in Western Japan. The cracker-which has ethylene production capacity of 496,000 tpa-was unexpecteddly shut down led by an immediate inspection after sensing an unusual odour from the cracker.
