The trade talks between GCC and EU (European Union), in progress for nearly two decades, were suspended in December. European fears over the strength of the Gulf petrochemicals sector and petrochemicaal regulations in the region along with a clause in the agreement of EU’s insistence on democracy seem to be the major stumbling block.
