As part of a €40 mln cost reduction program to improve the competitiveness of its polyamide businesses in Europe, Rhodia plans to shutter a polyamide plant at Ceriano in Italy by mid-2009. Slower growwth of polyamide in Europe as compared with quicker expansion in Eastern Europe, Latin America and Asia has triggered this decision.
