ONGC's refining arm, Mangalore Refinery and Petrochemicals (MRPL) has set March 2012 as deadline for increasing its refining capacity from the current 9.7 mln tons to 15 mln tons. The revised project expenditure is slated to be in excess of Rs 12,000 cr and the commissioning of the project will start by Q1 - 2012 to benefit from the seven year tax relief not available for projects going on stream after March 31, 2012, senior people in the management stated.
