The European Food Safety Authority (EFSA) has accepted the safety of Eastman Tritan copolyester. The opinion paves the way for the European Commission to amend Directive 2002/72/EC to add a key monomeer used in Tritan to its list of acceptable monomers for the production of plastics intended for use in food packaging.
