Typhoon Morakot that swept through Taiwan over the weekend, causing the worst flooding in 50 years, did not disrupt operations at petrochemical plants in Taiwan. Some petrochemical plants had to shut as a precautionary measure, but resumed operations after a few hours, as per ICIS.
