Ineos has inked an initial agreement to hive off its Italian vinyl chloride monomer (VCM) and PVC production operations run by Ineos Vinyls Italia, to existing board member Sartor's Safi. Ineos three plants in Porto Marghera, Ravenna and Porto Torres have been shuttered temporarily in a bid to cope with sharply deteriorating demand amid a global economic meltdown.
