Purdue University researchers have developed a method of using nanoparticles to deliver treatments to injured brain and spinal cord cells. PolyMirae (PMC), a joint venture between Daelim and LyondellBasell, has selected LyondellBasell's Metocene PP technology for one of its Spheripol lines in Yeosu, Korea. The Metocene PP technology liceense to PMC covers a full range of homopolymers, random copolymers and heterophasic copolymers with significantly improved physical properties.

Biobased polymers and plastics from ethylene derived from hydrous sugarcane-based ethanol
Florida-based Industrial Biotechnology Corp., plans to manufacture biobased polymers and plastics from ethylene derived from hydrous sugarcane-based ethanol. The company plans to use preexisting chemiical infrastructure to replace petroleum-based ethylene with hydrous-ethanol-based ethylene.
